The suspenders story
The majority of men prefer to wear the belts instead of suspenders considering that suspenders are not in the fashion and are hopeless in getting back to the fashion world. Some men even think that the men's suspenders are destined for the trousers holding of men whose belt gets off because of the big and fat stomach.
Such points of view appear from the wrong understanding of the men's fashion. Suspenders are usually the same decorative details of the clothes as the tie and the kerchief in the breast pocket.
In the modern world suspenders changed into the fashionable accessory finally. It creates the extraordinary and stylish image even today attracting the attention of other people. Suspenders make the figure of the man elegant especially when the man takes off the jacket to add the informal element to the situation. And nobody even remembers the initial purpose of these clothes.
According to one of the version men's suspenders were invented in Russia. Peter I was building the Petersburg and lost his weight a lot. So he started to tie up his trousers but didn't manage to do that very good. Than he ordered to his servants to put the fasteners over his shoulders and to fix them with the copper buttons that were situated in the front part of his trousers. But there are not too much evidences of this theory. Nevertheless maybe it is the most interesting one.
But the history is not so important. The most important thing is not to make the suspender enter the history and to wear this element of the men's wardrobe.
