The blazer story

The name of this famous sport jacket came from the title of the ship. In 1840 the captain of the ship H.M.S. Blazer introduced the uniform for his crew that consisted of the blue jackets with the white vertical stripes. With time people started to call all kinds of the formal jackets as blazers no matter they were striped or not. Nowadays the striped blazers are met not so frequently.

It is very difficult to give the definition to the modern blazer. On one hand it is the type of the uniform and on the other hand it is the uniform of the good sport's clubs and the jacket of many airlines. Some good hotels also have the blazers as the uniform for their staff.

Blazers have different look and can have both the severe and strict view and coloured bright look. Usually these jackets are made of the black and dark-blue woollen cloth. People also use the buttons of the yellow and white metals with the symbols and the embroidery of the emblem.

Many men also put blazers on not being the members of the sport clubs. In fact blazer is the perfect element of the casual style during the walk or the picnic to the sport competitions. Such jackets have more differential points. The unchangeable element of the blazer is the lighter or darker trousers that correspond to the jacket by its density. Sometimes the jacket has some signs or buttons with the maritime topic that reminds about the maritime origins of the blazer.
